As unit 2 is all about animal studies, I thought it would be a good idea to do a small project on unusual animals. The project will help you learn new facts about animals and develop your reading skills as you browse through the Internet searching the information about animals. In class, you were divided into 5 groups, 3 members each. Each group was assigned a certain animal to research. To help you find information on the Internet about your assigned animal, I have posted useful links below.

WHAT TO DO
Browse through the suggested websites and find the following information about your animal.
1. Describe the animal. What does it look like? Size? Weight? Life span = How long does an animal live?
2. Are there different types of the animal? If yes, how many types are there? What are they?
3. Where does the animal live?
a. Habitat - a natural environment where the animal lives, e.g. forest, desert, ocean etc.
b. Range - countries and continents it can be found on. Ex.: Kangaroos live in Australia.
4. What are the animal's eating habits? What does it eat? (Is it a herbivore = plant eater or a carnivore = meat eater? Is it an omnivore = plant and meat eater?) How much does it eat? How often does it eat?
5. What are the social habits? Does it live alone or in a group?
6. List 3-5 interesting / fun facts, not mentioned above, about the animal.
I would like each group to make a poster or a PowerPoint presentation (PPP) about your animal. The poster/PPP needs to have a picture and the information about the animal. When you present the information about the animal, it should be presented in a clear way in simple English so that everyone can understand.
